Greene sheriff provides accident reports online

CATSKILL — The Greene County Sheriff's Office has entered into an agreement with PoliceReports.US to provide online access to accident reports that are handled by the office.

Greene County Sheriff Greg Seeley said the service will allow the public and their respective insurance companies the flexibility of getting accident reports online, instead of driving to the sheriff's office or waiting for mail delivery.

Accident reports generated after May 1 are available online at http://greenecsony.policereports.us/. Seeley said visitors can search the site for reports and immediately print a copy.

There is a $4 per report fee for the service, which can be paid by credit card or prepaid account. However, Seeley said the public can still choose to come to the sheriff's office to get a free copy or request a copy by mail at no cost.
